What are we doing?
The Australian Government has allocated $2.6 million over three years (2019-20 to 2021-22) under the Fourth Action Plan in support of MensLine Australia’s ‘Changing for Good’ program. This is a free voluntary program to help men to recognise their abusive behaviours, end their use of violence and make sustained changes in their behaviours and attitudes.
The program provides access to specialist counsellors, works with men to identify and work towards their individual goals, and supports them to access additional services.
What have we achieved so far?
In 2020-21, 643 clients participated in the Changing for Good program compared to 404 clients in 2019-20.
What is next?
Changing for Good is funded until 30 June 2022.
What difference will we make?
The intended outcomes of this program are that people who use violence can access supports and services, implement self-management techniques, and change their behaviour.
