Under the National Plan, the Commonwealth Government has worked to establish and support a number of key initiatives to drive a long-term, whole of community effort to reduce violence against women and their children.

1800RESPECT

1800RESPECT is Australia’s first national, professional telephone and online counselling service established by the Commonwealth Government under the National Plan.

Australia’s National Research Organisation for Women’s Safety (ANROWS)

ANROWS is a national research organisation that aims to build evidence that will guide policy and practice aimed at addressing the high rates of domestic, family and sexual violence against women and their children.

DV-Alert

DV-alert is the only nationally accredited and nationally delivered free training program designed to help health and allied health workers better understand and identify domestic and family violence and improve their referral and support skills.

Our Watch

Our Watch (previously the Foundation to Prevent Violence against Women and their Children) is an independent, not for profit organisation established to raise awareness and engage the community in action to prevent violence against women and their children.

The Line

The Line is Australia’s long-term, evidence-based social marketing campaign that encourages healthy, equal and respectful relationships by challenging and changing attitudes and behaviours that support violence against women.

The Line is for young people aged 12 to 20, and also supports parents, caregivers, teachers and other influencers.

White Ribbon

White Ribbon Australia is a national public education, primary prevention campaign to end male violence against women.
